Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at National, I was pleasantly surprised by their culinary offerings. As a history teacher, I appreciate establishments that weave their rich past into present experiences. The restaurant’s ambiance, reminiscent of quaint European settings, added to the charm. I had the pleasure of indulging in a traditional high tea served on the lovely High St balcony. While enjoying layers of delightful pastries and savory bites, I couldn't help but admire how the hotel has embraced local flavors, incorporating Four Pillars gins into their drink selection. The atmosphere was relaxed, with soft chatter and laughter mingling in the background—ideal for leisurely dining. To that, I was given food and beverage vouchers which allowed me to explore various levels of culinary creativity within the hotel. The choice of venues, including the casual rooftop bar and the traditional pub, added a vibrant touch to my afternoons. With comfortable rooms and helpful staff, I found National to be an excellent base for culinary exploration in Perth.
